For three days, from 8 to 10 June, the Central square of Khanty-Mansiysk will turn into a city of masters. Participants from 25 regions of the Russian Federation, India, Congo, Uzbekistan and Mongolia will present their works to the residents and guests of the district capital. The jubilee X international festival of crafts of indigenous peoples of the world “Ugra-2018″will be held here.
Ugra represent the master of the 18 municipal units of Khanty-Mansiysk, Urai, Surgut, Lyantor, Megion, Yugorsk, Sovetskiy, Nyagan, Pyt-Yakh, Nefteyugansk, Kogalym, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nefteyugansk, Nizhnevartovsk, Beloyarskiy, Surgutskiy, Konda and October districts.
The event is held under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and the international organization of Northern regions “Northern forum”, will be supported by the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation. The founder of the festival is the government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
More than 200 people applied for participation in the program events of the festival, 108 of them – for international competitions of professional skills. Among the participants of the festival are scientists, art critics, employees of museums, folk art houses and craft centers, representatives of state institutions, public organizations, teachers of art schools, artists, masters of folk art, representatives of creative unions and associations of regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries, heads of state, municipal and public organizations in the field of culture.
