The Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova launched the tenth international festival of crafts of indigenous peoples of the world “Ugra-2018” in Khanty-Mansiysk. “This is a very important and justified work, because creative people come together to preserve and develop the culture, traditions and crafts of indigenous peoples, – said the head of the region, assessing the importance of such an event. “Today, there are over 300 million indigenous people in the world. In our district they include Khanty, Mansi, Nenets. We preserve as carefully as possible for them such opportunities that will not allow to forget traditional crafts. And we will learn to do even better.”
Natalia Komarova stressed that in the current year, special focus will be paid to families, developing traditional crafts.The Governor and the potential provided at the festival grounds for people with disabilities noted: “This is a very good idea, and the government of the Autonomous district will provide all possible support to this direction.”
Another innovation of the festival was the scientific and practical seminar “Research of wooden architecture of Russia”.
